A moment in time observed — an ephemeral alignment of celestial bodies, interacting and radiating energy that cascades fractally through stratospheres, atmospheres, aerosols, forest canopies and underbrush, before penetrating the optical system of the eye and scattering light across the retina. From there the cascade continues, threading through the optic nerve and into the visual cortex of the brain.
The energy becomes sensation. Sensation becomes information. We think, we feel, we remember — and in that brief window, something ineffable passes between the world and the self. Then time moves on, the light shifts, and the moment dissolves, like rays passing through to your eyes.
This is a study for the larger original work.
